Teaching Approach:
- Always look for ways to integrate other disciplines into social studies classes.
- A major proponent of the project approach when working with students. This complements her efforts to integrate other disciplines into her social studies classes and allows her to meet the needs of individual students.
Outstanding Achievements:
- Organizes and runs the annual Highland Young Readers Conference to bring the community into Highlands while encouraging children to read. This successful event sees more than 300 students from various schools come together with 12 local authors and businesspeople.
- Integrated high technology into her daily teaching practices with a Promethean Interactive White Board. The technology allows her to use interactive multimedia content, such as satellite images of the earth, to grab her students interest and stimulate learning.
