Teaching Approach:
Helps each child reach the stars and have a great time doing it. He surrounds the classroom with posters, e.g. "Believe in Yourself" and "The Power to Win Must Come From Within."
Outstanding Achievements:
Mr. Lukacs nurtures the creative side of his students and teaches old concepts in new and creative ways. The Survivor Challenge teams tackle daily grammar challenges for 14 days straight. Creative activities include work in all subject areas, be it tangrams, spelling, physical exercises or map reading, all based on the Ontario curriculum.
Students are encouraged to develop their creative, dramatic and speaking skills by participating in the annual musical production. They audition for roles and assist in writing, designing costumes and getting props.
Mr. Lukacs shows care and devotion by often staying at school past 8:30 p.m. to carefully prepare high-energy activities for the next day. He provides students with detailed feedback on assignments for self-correction, further improvement and growth.
His School Buddy System sees his students help senior kindergarten students with reading, math and computer activities.
